Pupils and Staff Embrace Fictional Characters For World Book Day

Where have all the dalmatians gone? Only the Cruellas know! Staff and pupils dress up for World Book Day.

Pupils and staff fully embraced World Book Day as they proved their reading knowledge by dressing up as their favourite fictional characters.

Becky Scott, Reynolds Academy Principal, said World Book Day had brought out some fantastic characters and everyone in the school had been encouraged to read throughout the day. Parents were invited in to read with their children. Activities included arts and crafts, a book trail, quizzes, a design a doorway competition, design a potato character, and Year 6 made nonsense poems based on Alice in Wonderland.

“Reading is integral to every day at the Academy, but World Book Day gives us another opportunity to emphasise that, and we are so proud of the children today for their spectacular costumes,” she said.
