Step into Christmas!

Reynolds Academy have been putting on some incredible shows to celebrate the festive season with fellow pupils, staff and relatives.

Foundation Stage 1 showed us a performance of the original Nativity complete with the donkey, wise men, shepherds and of course Mary and Joseph.

Foundation Stage 2 performed ‘A Wriggly Nativity’. In their play, they told the story of the first Christmas – Mary and Joseph have to get a wriggle on to make it to Bethlehem before Baby Jesus was born.

Key Stage 1 embraced their mean side this year and put on a performance of ‘The Grinch’. Mrs Gharib said: “The children have really enjoyed using lots of expression within the songs. They have understood why the Grinch was unhappy and how Christmas spirit comes from being around the people that you love, rather than what you can buy from a shop.”

Year 3 and 4 are proud to present their play ‘No One Wraps Like An Elf’. The play covers the current concern about the use of plastic whilst reminding us all what the spirit of Christmas is all about – friends and family and spending time with loved ones.

Year 5 and 6 presented the Nativity, but with a few modern twists, written and produced by our teacher, Miss Mackin. The newest iPhone, an Asda voucher and a Big Mac meal were not the gifts given in the original Nativity story, but that's what they brought in our production! They followed the journey of a teacher and her class of students as they go back in time to Bethlehem and watch the events unfold.

Principal Rebecca Scott said: “The pupils have all worked so hard with these shows and each and every one of them have done us proud. The shows all had such great feedback from parents, relatives and staff.

I would like to thank the staff for putting together such great performances for us to bring in the Christmas season!”
